Different Types Of Hauling Equipment

Hauling equipment is used in many engineering industries like construction, civil, transportation mining to deliver goods and heavy materials. They are generally classified into different ways including:
  • On-road or off-road haulers.
  • Rear dump, side-dump, and bottom-dump.
  • Articulated or rigid frame haulers.
  • Four-wheeler or six-wheeler hauler.
  • High utility vehicles

On-road vehicles are specially manufactured for public highways, whereas off-road haulers are designed for different types of construction sites.

Hauling equipment comes in different types. They are:

1. Utility Cranes

Cranes are widely used in different industries for lifting and moving materials from one place to another. They are generally, fitted with shelves, wire ropes, and hoists. These equipment are also used to demolish any building. There are two types of cranes can be found in the construction industries. These are mobile cranes and fixed cranes.

2. Mobile crane

These cranes contain trusses and are mounted on mobile platforms, such as flatcars or trucks.

3. Fixed crane

Fixed cranes are widely used to lift heavy loads. These cranes are considered as high utility cranes. They can be found in every construction area. Different types of fixed cranes are tower cranes, telescopic cranes, gantry crane, deck crane, hammerhead crane, jib crane, etc.

4. Trucks

The truck is a vehicle that is widely used to transport different types of materials like soils, wood, metals, sands, dirt, etc. The cost of the hauling of trucks is comparatively lower in comparison to other transporting vehicles. Trucks are categorized into two types. These are on-road trucks and off-road trucks.

5. Tractors

Tractors help to pull other hauling equipment and machinery in the construction sites. They can mostly be found in the agricultural industries. In agriculture, these utility vehicles are generally used for tilling, plowing, planting fields, etc. Tractors always deliver higher tractive efforts at a slower speed.

6. Bulldozers

Bulldozers are another common hauling equipment that can be found in many construction sites. These powerful machines are widely used to push rocks, soils, rubble, sands, etc. Bulldozers can work in different types of soils.

7. Excavators

Excavators are powerful equipment that is specially designed for demolishing buildings, lifting loads and digging holes. The main components of these hauling equipment are a long hydraulic arm and a heavy-duty digging bucket. These are generally fitted in the rotating platforms called House by which they can rotate 360 degrees.

Hauling equipment are very much essential in every construction site. They give high efforts and maximum efficiency every time. In short, these hauling equipment make any construction project easier.
